Welcome to Loon Law, PLLC. I'm Brandt Devich, co-founder of this firm alongside my best friend and law partner. Our journey began in 2020, fulfilling a dream we've shared since our undergraduate days. Loon Law is more than just a legal practice; it's a passion project aimed at providing competent and trusted criminal defense services to individuals facing legal challenges.
At Loon Law, our mission is clear: to adapt to the evolving world by embracing remote services and minimizing the need for in-person meetings. We understand the demands of modern life, which is why we prioritize convenience and accessibility for our clients. From DWIs to drug charges, assault to expungements, we offer comprehensive criminal defense representation across a wide range of legal matters.
What sets Loon Law apart is our commitment to serving clients primarily online and through remote means. This approach eliminates unnecessary disruptions to our clients' busy schedules, allowing them to focus on their case without the added stress of in-person meetings. Our core principle revolves around providing attentive, aggressive, and ethical representation tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
Before founding Loon Law, I played a pivotal role in challenging and dismantling the 'pay-for-stay' system in Minnesota jails. My journey in the legal field began at the University of Wisconsin - Superior, where I graduated with a Bachelor's in Legal Studies and Psychology. I was also captain of the University’s nationally-ranked Mock Trial team. Following that, I pursued my Juris Doctor degree at Mitchell | Hamline College of Law, where I gained valuable experience in both prosecutorial and public defense roles. I graduated, passed the bar exam, and was ultimately admitted to the Minnesota Bar, in 2016.
At Loon Law, we are a team of two dedicated attorneys focused on providing competent representation to clients facing criminal charges. Our ideal client is someone who needs trustworthy legal guidance to navigate their legal challenges with confidence. While criminal defense is our primary focus, we envision expanding into other practice areas such as family law, personal injury claims, and more.
On a personal note, I'm a proud Minnesota native and a passionate supporter of our state's sports teams - Vikings, Loons, Twins, Wild. When I'm not practicing law, you can find me enjoying various activities like fishing, boating, and curling, or indulging in cooking a new recipe, some video gaming, 3D printing or other hands-on project.
